The building dates from around 1928 and was moved and restored in 2011. It is a traditional Okinawan house with red Ryukyu tiles, but it is a little different from other houses. The entrance, eaves, and windows are covered with glass, which was not seen in those days, showing the changes in Okinawan architecture. It also features a spacious guest room of more than 15 square meters. On the roof, there is an Okinawan guardian deity called Shisa, which drives away evil spirits and disasters. Shisa (Lion)

Description

This building features an "Irimoya-zukuri" hip-and-gable roof made of red Ryukyu tiles and the front facing to the northeast. It was built roughly 87 years ago. From the front right, there is a 10-tatami mat "ichiban-za"(a guest room), "niban-za"(an altar room), and "sanban-za"(a living room), with one more room("ura-za") in the back and protruding kitchen with an earthen floor. The plane composition and framework of the building are traditional, but it also has modern elements such as the entrance eaves at the front of ichiban-za(the guest room) and the glass doors.
