The family is said to be related to Amamikyo, the god of the Ryukyu Islands, and has been in charge of the sacred site for generations. The year of construction is about 140 years. It was also used for the filming of the Japanese domestic drama and movie "The Tempest", where the actors performed their performances. The main building of the former Higa family residence within the facility was also used for filming.

Description
The family is said to be related to Amamikyu, the deity of the Ryukyu Islands, and has been managing the sacred site for generations. "Ichiban-za"(a guest room) features a "Tokonoma" (decorative alcove) for enshrining sacred stones. It was built in the late 19th century. It is a one-story wooden structure with a length of 11.8 meters, a width of 5.45 meters, and a hipped red tile roof. The south side of the building has "sanban-za"(a living room) and the kitchen next to each other, and the north end of the east side and the north side have extended eaves("amahaji").
